ss which was founded in 1940 by Des and Maureen Kenny in Galway city. Now in its third generation, several members of the family work in the business which also includes an art gallery that stocks original works of Irish art, a book bindery and a libraries division - we work in the acquisition and placement of Special Collections.

2020 sees the celebration of our 80th year in business, and kennys.ie is also the longest running online bookshop in the world.

The great Colm Tóibín in Kennys last night for what was a superb evening celebrating his latest short story collection, 'The News From Dublin', 36 years on from the publication of his first novel. Tóibín is as entertaining, interesting and eloquent in person as he is in his writing - we could stand in the snow all night to listen to him. A night for the books.

We are so delighted to announce an event with the great Robert Harris in Galway, this September 18th! He will be interviewed in Galway's Black Box theatre to mark the launch of 'Agrippa', his upcoming thriller set in the world of Ancient Rome. Tickets are on sale now!
