Done a little price check today.

Did u know for a 50 wash pack of Persil you pay up to €22 in your local supermarket but we have an eco friendly laundry alternative (Ecoegg laundry 50 wash refill) that has less waste and it will only cost you €6.40..... You can nearly get 4 of our refills for the same price......

It's an easy choice in our eyes 👀

Have you tried shampoo bars?

If not you really should consider this beautiful range by Janni. Made in Ireland in county Kildare.

They take up so much less space in your bathroom than a big plastic bottle and the aromas are to die for. I just love the dagda I just wish I had oily hair so I could use it 😂😂😂

I get about 4 months out of my bars using it 3 times a week. All you have to do is rub the bar onto your hair and it lathers up beautifully 😍

Shampoo bars
Dagda = oily hair (lemongrass & Eucalyptus)
Freya = dry/damaged (argan oil & Lavender)
Athena = dry/damaged (Raspberry & Pink grapefruit)
Apollo = sensitive scalp (with goats milk powder and it's unscented)
Lir = normal (Seaweed & mint)

Conditioner bars
Oat Silk conditioner = normal hair (Peppermint & Rosemary)
Spiced Rose = dry/damaged ( Rose & clove)

Got a recommendation to try this app today and I have to say I love the idea and I hope it spreads country wide.

It's called "too good to go"

An app to help reduce food waste 😍

It offers "surprise bags" of the stuff the participating businesses would normally bin at the end of the day at a reduced price to customers in order to reduce waste.

I missed them this evening as it was too late when I logged on but I'll definitely be buying.....

Made some pancakes today for breakfast and we didn't use the whole batch so I got to use my amazing silicone lids instead of horrible plastic cling film.

Simple swap that you can do and take care of your oral hygiene at the same time......😬

Use these hydrophil wooden interdental brushes instead of the plastic ones you would get in your regular supermarket.

You simply pull out the brushes when you have finished with them put the brush part in the bin and the wooden bit into your compost bin. You can even use these more than once the dentist informed me on my last visit just leave them to soak in mouthwash and you can get a second use out of them. 👍😊

There r a few things you can do to help you get more time out of all your clothes.

1. Wash at lower temperatures as heart can negatively impact fibres in clothing
2. Wash all clothes inside out and don't over fill the washing machine as friction can fade the colours and the wear out the fibres in your clothes faster
3. Buy eco friendly laundry detergent. There r a wide variety available or you could try something like an ecoegg or laundry detergent sheets to eliminate the use of plastic bottles.
4. Avoid fabric conditioner as it adds an extra layer of waxiness to the clothing which leaves the clothes looking full and reduces their lifespan.
5. Repair or repurpose clothes. As my mother always said a stitch in time saves nine...
6. Air dry your washing....I know in this lovely country it is only a few weeks( maybe even days 😂) it's possible to dry clothes outside but use clothes horses and hangers indoors to dry clothing instead of tumble dryers, you reduce your electricity consumption plus the heat and friction from tumble dryers reduces the life of clothes.
6. Store your clothes in a well ventilated dry space to prevent dampness mould and moths. Use lavender or moth balls in your wardrobe to ward off clothes moths and don't over fill the wardrobe as again the friction isn't good plus less creasing less ironing win win ☺️
7. Washing clothes less is actually good for them. Only wash clothes when they really need to be washed. If they just need to be freshened to hang them outside or in a steamy bathroom and that will hold off the need to wash them for a few more wears.
8. Cut down on dry cleaning. You can actually do a delicate hand wash for most dry clean only clothing as long as there isn't intricate detail that could be damaged. Dry cleaning uses so much chemicals which isn't good for your clothes or for the environment.
