Handcradted steel tongue drums, made from recycled empty gas bottles. The tank is flipped over and eight tongues are cut radially into the bottom of the tank, forming the top of the instrument. The tongues are tuned by varying the length of the cuts. The steel tongue drum is often tuned to pentatonic scales but can be tuned to chromatic scales, or any set of notes chosen. The instrument comes with a set of mallets to play with. The tone is bell/ gong-like. The creation of the instrument was inspired by instruments such as the African slit drum, African tongue drum, xylaphone, marimba, balafon.
