POV: You just spent four days bringing the 'Make It Personal' magic to at 🪡✨️

We’ve just wrapped up an incredible four-days, and I’m still trying to find the words for how good it felt to chat to everyone, to see their faces and to meet customers face to face.

It wasn’t just about the hundreds of products we stitched; it was about the stories behind them and the core memories they have created for some 💭 The first pair of jeans, the anniversary gift, the first backpack for creche, the romper from a granny to her first grandchild. We stitched matching shorts for honeymooners, tiny socks for newborn twins, thoughtful treats for Father's Day, and matching socks for groomsmen.
Some were "just because" gifts, others were simply treating themselves – each piece a unique story, and we felt that connection with every single one of you.

And to every single person who stopped by, chatted with us, or just stood there with wide eyes watching the machine bring something to life, thank you. You turned a "job" into a soul-filling experience.

After two weeks of non-stop live activations and hundreds of items later, the adrenaline of seeing your reactions is what keeps me going.

Roisin and I took a moment to soak it all in today with a treat to recover the aching backs, restore the energy and recoup the body again in Bellinter House Spa💭

We came for the embroidery, but we left with so much more.

Three days, one massive HQ, and hundreds of personalised gifts. 🧵

We just wrapped our biggest live activation to date with . Taking our whole personalisation studio on the road for a 3-day live activation at the new HQ on St.Stephens Green ✔️🙌

Going from single-day events to a multi-day corporate takeover was a massive step up, more logistics, more thread, more caffeine, and a whole lot of personalisation!

Watching myself and the team work our magic to ensure every staff member walked away with a custom piece as the perfect welcome gift has been one of the major highlights of our year so far.

Big shoutout to the Vodafone team for having us and to the team at for trusting us with the job in hand.

We’re officially ready for the next big challenge and we’re keeping the momentum going and heading to this week for an incredible 4-day activation with 👏

There was never a business plan.
No big launch strategy.
No roadmap telling me this would work.
Just me sitting alone during lockdown in a new village, trying to find purpose in a world that suddenly felt uncertain.

What started as a creative outlet during long days alone, led me to turn my embroidery machine back on and slowly, stitch by stitch, it became something much bigger.
Around that same time, I lost my Dad to Covid. Navigating grief in isolation changed me completely. It made me realise how precious time really is and how important it is to build something meaningful.
That’s where Make It Personal Ireland truly began. From resilience, creativity and a deep need to create something with heart. 🤍

Today, it feels incredible to share that we have been selected as a finalist in the 2026 for:

This recognition means more than any title because every part of this business was built through real life. Through loss, uncertainty, pregnancy, motherhood, redundancy, rebuilding and continuing to show up even when things felt heavy behind the scenes.

There was never a “right time.”
There was only instinct, consistency, and the belief that meaningful things are worth building.
What started as a hobby in the back bedroom 5 years ago is now a business working with globally recognised brands, something I could never have imagined during those early days.
But no matter how much the business grows, the heart of it remains the same: creating pieces that hold meaning, memories, identity, and connection in a world that often moves too fast.

SOLO BUSINESSWOMEN OF THE YEAR FINALIST ✨

Celebrating for the second year running but this one feels incredibly special.

Make It Personal Ireland was never started with awards or business plans in mind. It began quietly during lockdown as a creative outlet while navigating one of the hardest periods of my life after losing my Dad. Embroidery and my online community became something that gave me focus, comfort and purpose when I needed it most.

What started as evenings and weekends creating personalised pieces from the box room slowly became something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Fast forward to today… after becoming a mam and navigating redundancy after maternity leave, taking the leap into full-time business ownership, and rebuilding with a completely new vision for the brand, I’m beyond proud to be named a finalist for Solo Businesswoman of the Year with Network Ireland Meath.

Over the last six months especially, Make It Personal Ireland has transformed from a side hustle into a growing premium brand specialising in live embroidery activations, corporate partnerships and meaningful personalised experiences. But beyond any growth or numbers, what matters most to me is creating work that people genuinely connect with and remember.

Success for me has never been about revenue. It’s about impact. It’s about building a reputation where people speak positively about you and your work when you’re not in the room. It’s about creating something with longevity, trust and heart.

I wanted to take a moment to properly reintroduce myself to everyone who’s joined our community, and to all our amazing long-time supporters 💛

I’m Gráinne, the founder, chief embroiderer, and heart behind Make It Personal Ireland.

What started as a small side hustle during lockdown quickly became something much more. At the time, I had just moved to a new town, away from family and friends, while my husband worked long weeks helping to build vaccine labs. I found myself with long, quiet days and needed something that gave me purpose… and that’s where this journey began.

Lockdown was also a time of deep personal loss, as I lost my Dad to COVID in 2021. Embroidery became my escape, my way to process everything, and the online community became a lifeline when I needed it most.

With a background in design and a lifelong love of creativity, building something of my own felt natural. I’ve always been passionate about creating elevated, meaningful personalisation—something beyond the ordinary. Today, Make It Personal Ireland specialises in machine embroidery, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to create truly unique pieces.

In 2024, I had my first baby and spent my maternity leave growing the business in every spare moment. After being made redundant in 2025, I took the leap to fully commit to building this dream for myself and my family.

Since then, the business has grown in ways I could never have imagined—winning awards and even working with international brands on live embroidery events and personalised gifting.

I’m so proud of what this journey has become.
