🎉The Dunmore Annual Festival Committee are delighted to announce that the 60th Anniversary of the Canberra Twin Bomber Emergency Landing in Dunmore will be remembered in an RTÉ Nationwide programme 📺🎥 which will be broadcast on RTÉ One television on Wednesday the 19th of October at 7pm. It was filmed last August during Festival week in Dunmore. So be sure to tune in. It will also be available to view online and internationally on the RTÉ Player. www.rte.ie/player

We would like to thank all of those who helped us with the exhibition, those who did interviews and gave memorabilia. A huge thank you to Brian Keating and all at Cairde Mol for the copy of Jim Finnegan’s amazing footage of the Canberra bomber plane from 1962. (check it out on their page) We would like to thank all at Dunmore MacHales GAA for their help and the use of their magnificent facility for the exhibition; Anne Tierney from The Old Tuam Society, Dunmore And District Vintage Club and our own Committee member Michael Burke for use of their photographs and additional footage for the report. A special thanks to our local and national newspapers who allowed us to reprint the headlines and articles of this historic day when Dunmore made international headlines. 🎉

A former member of our former Crochet Group is looking for a new Venue for crocheters of all ability to get together again!!! Negotiations are underway, so keep an eye out on this page and we will let you know! This will be an ad-hoc get-together, not organised by any group. Just a couple of people with and without crochet skills getting together to learn from each other! There will be a small contribution for use of the room and coffee/tea. More information to follow!
