Delighted to be hosting the official launch of this wonderful childrens book on Friday 9th May. Wonderfully touching and topical book it tells the true story of a Palestinian team that travels to Ireland in 2017, the friendships made and the terror for all involved when on their return war erupts in Gaza. Written by Winnie Clarke it's a childrens book but everyone is welcome. Well worth noting that money from the sales of the book will be donated to help support the Al Hilal Football Academy in Gaza.

Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone who shopped local in December, it was much appreciated. We've decided after a tough year to give ourselves a break this Xmas/New Year and will be back (Covid regs. allowing) on Monday 4th Jan. This is a longer than usual break but given the year we've all had and the hard work the staff have put in over the various lockdowns and the stressful school season we're taking the time out to recharge our batteries. and read some books, obviously. If anyone has any emergency book business that needs dealing with before then let us know here, or by email at [email protected]. Until then stay safe, have a Happy New year and we'll see you in January.

TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC MONDAY 17th AUGUST. Just a few weeks to go till the schools are re-opened and thing are getting busy here at Roe River Books. A big thank you to all the customers who have helped us get this far by phoning in or e-mailing in your school book orders. It's becoming obviously though that to make sure we get through the orders we have received to date that we'll have to change our usual method of operation. To that end we have taken the tough decision to close to the public for the next few Mondays to give us time to get on top of the orders received to date. We're still open for e-mail orders and will be back to our usual hours on Tuesday 18th. If anyone is badly stuck and needs to collect an order tomorrow just contact us here or at [email protected] and we'll sort something out. Thanks again to everyone for being so understanding and hopefully with these few changes we'll get through the season without too much inconvenience caused.
