Please help support Ahmed and his family. Once again, they are being forced to move. They have no transport and no tent. Ahmed's son was injured in a bombing and they are trying to get medical care for him.

I can't believe I'm writing this. All this man-made suffering. Aid at the border waiting to get in. SHAME on Israel and the powers of the world. 💔

If you would like to donate to Ahmed, and receive something nice for yourself, please read on.

➡️ Make a donation via the link in my bio. (Chuffed website)
➡️ DM me a screenshot of proof of your donation.
➡️ Let me know which ÉIRE necklace you'd like (most are available, but not the gold East heart). I'll also send you a Palestine necklace.*while stocks last.
➡️ Send me the address you'd like it to go to. I'll cover the cost of postage. *Addresses in Ireland only please.*

I know you're probably donating constantly, and every single one of these causes is equally important. Thank you so very much for considering this one! ❤️

I've been paired with Ahmed and his family through If you'd like to help a family in Palestine, get in touch with her. ❤️

Don't go silent, don't get distracted by storylines, Bono, Kneecap etc. Palestinian lives depend on it. Keep the pressure on. I feel completely powerless but know at the very least, sharing images and footage is something!

This Tuesday, 22nd April. Global Day of Action for Palestine. 🇵🇸🇮🇪
As the Israelis continue to starve and murder the Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, we must make a collective stand.

- Don't buy anything! (Your money is powerful)
- Have conversations about Palestine.
- Wear badges, keffiyeh, Palestinian colour etc.!
- Join a gathering in your area.
- Tag your favourite influencers, celebrities, sportspeople, politicians etc.
- Contact your local politicians. Ask them to speak up. Demand the Irish Government enact the Occupied Territories Bill, as they promised during the election.
- Don't go to work/school. (I understand this is not possible for everyone.)

The Israeli Foreign Ministry is looking for ways to spend $150 million on 'public diplomacy.'

What is HASBARA? According to Wikipedia, Hasbara (Hebrew: הַסְבָּרָה) has no direct English translation, but roughly means "explaining". It is a communicative strategy that "seeks to explain actions, whether or not they are justified". As it focuses on providing explanations about one's actions, hasbara has been called a "reactive and event-driven approach".

It is essentially the Israeli propaganda machine.
This article (tagged in my stories), taken from Israeli website Israeli Hayom, suggests the ways in which this money should be spent. It suggests "investing in a broad swath of cool "Gen-Z" activists, in media training for Israeli officials, in Arabic and other multilingual and multiethnic young spokespeople, in a 24-hour English TV network, in efforts to expose the moral bankruptcy of the UN and the venality of Qatar-backed ventures at universities, and in programs that highlight the non-political faces of Israel in culture, sports, technology, and medicine."

The author suggests that the most beneficial use of this propaganda money is to invite international guests to Israel for all expenses paid trips.
If you're not familiar with Israel's birthright programme, have a look into it. It is a genius way of brainwashing young people.

Where will this hasbara $150 million come from I wonder? 🤔🤯

In a lovely coincidence, this picture came up on my Facebook memories today. This day, 13 years ago, I wore my keffiyeh as I stood by the River Boyne in magical Newgrange.
My father was in the Irish army and was stationed in Lebanon in the 80s. I grew up with an awareness of the conflict in the area because of this. Then, 10 years ago, I moved abroad and spent 2 of those years in Kuwait. I worked with so many Palestinians. Like so many others, they had been forced out of Palestine by illegal Israeli occupation. The Palestinians I worked with were such wonderful people. They reminded me so much of the Irish. Similar sense of humour and not taking themselves too seriously. My co-teacher, Etimad had been forced out of Gaza 20 years before. She'd raised her family in Kuwait and longed to bring them home some day. Her sister was suffering from cancer but Etimad was unable to visit her. Despite this hardship, trauma and heartache, she was such a fun loving woman. Often when the students were gone home, we'd get so giddy and would play pranks on our fellow staff. Her sister passed away a few months ago. No access to healthcare. 💔
I travelled to Palestine in 2014. To see the separation wall with my own eyes was heartbreaking. I didn't really comprehend the hate and division until I experienced it. Jerusalem felt like a city on the verge of aggression. Checkpoints everywhere, closed with no notice. Teenage Israelis armed and in uniform patrolled the streets. Separate areas for Palestinians. I felt embarrassed to pass through checkpoints while they waited for hours. In their own country. 🤯 We watched as 2 IOF soldiers urinated from a patrol tower onto a Palestinian graveyard below. Netting hung over Palestinian streets to stop rubbish being thrown down on them by settlers who'd built on top of their buildings! I've so much more to say...
Today 15/01/25 the CEASEFIRE agreement has been passed. I have fleeting moments of happiness for the Palestinians but so much sadness and fear. This is not the end of the nightmare. We must not allow then to be forgotten for another 75 years. 💔
Saoirse don Phalaistín. Freedom for Palestine. 🇵🇸

Yeah, grand. 💔 Just totally heartbroken that our world can allow such suffering. Via #2024

OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO OUR PALESTINIAN COMMUNITY and help a Gazan family survive.. please read below (and swipe through all slides). 🛝

Many of us have been bearing witness to the destruction and devastation of the lives of our fellow humans in Gaza for more than 10 months.

We are working collectively to raise survival funds that will be directly distributed to a Palestinian family in need.

Mohamed and his family of 9 including his pregnant wife and two year old son, have been displaced multiple times in the past few months. Living in a tent, he struggles to provide food and water for the children.
Each displacement brings more trauma and danger, forcing them to start over and find more resources daily.

🤝 Together we are leveraging our privilege and raising funds to support this family to survive and evacuate to safety, in the hopes they can one day return and rebuild their home in Rafah.

🤝 Together we can alchemise the overwhelming feeling of despair with consistent action. By banding together, we are helping a family reach their goal, be it for survival or evacuation.
