At Springwools, we believe craft has the power to bring people together and make a real difference. That's why our team has signed up for Crafters For Saoirse, a 24-hour craftathon fundraiser supporting Saoirse Domestic Violence Services.

We're taking part as a relay team, and together we'll be putting in over 40 hours of combined crafting to create something very special for Saoirse. We can't reveal what it is just yet. but we think you'll love it when you see it.

Saoirse have been supporting women and children escaping domestic violence for over 20 years, helping more than 500 families every year. They do incredible work and they need our support.

Absolutely blown away by the stunning KNITTED MAP OF IRELAND on display at Carnew Community Care! 🌟 This giant 5×4 m wool masterpiece, handcrafted by the incredibly talented ladies of the Home First knitting group, features iconic landmarks—from Glendalough’s Round Tower and the Guinness Storehouse to the Giants’ Causeway and Blarney Castle—each crafted with boundless creativity and dedication

What makes it even more remarkable? It’s the result of FOUR years of dedicated handiwork, involving 19 local women who met weekly, poured in thousands of hours, and brought this vision to life—despite the challenges of Covid and the loss of a few dear friends along the way.

This isn’t just a map—it’s a labour of love, a triumph of community, and a celebration of Irish creativity. Hats off to Teresa Moran, Betty Kavanagh, Mary Blake, Helan Caroll Kelly, Josie Doyle, Liz Butler, and all the amazing women behind this masterpiece. You’ve made us all proud. 👏❤️
