Ever curious about the climate impact of war? We’ve a few posts coming - it’s baffling…

Between bad agreements, lobbying and loopholes - the wrong targets are focused on with everything from Irish farmers to those who like to travel getting the blame for rising emissions, when one tank can produce more emissions in 12 weeks, than an entire Irish family can in a year….

I’ve been doing quite a bit of reading on this, with more posts to come - fascinating - yet absolutely startling.

And just like that, we’re Bcorp certified - having passed the B Corp assessment (with flying colours, might I add).

This was no easy feat with an abundance of documentation required to highlight the impact of our business and demonstrate our commitment to sustainability across all of our operations.

Special thanks to Byron Smith from for his patience and coordination over the last year… as I tended to let things slip, albeit with good intentions - but sure, the road to hell is paved with those.

Narcissips is a small venture I started in 2018 to put my studies to good use - and to solve three problems I seen:

1) the plastic problem - it was everywhere - plaguing our health, our environment and as a chartered accountant, our pockets!

2) Back then there wasn’t another irish brand in the market - with the international brands being overpriced end extortionate at the time..

This, in my head, stifled any real change as if Tina down the road couldn’t afford a good reusable, why would she invest or how would she be motivated to change her behaviours?

And lastly - I was (and am) lucky to have got Scholarships and grants to get me through college.

Narcissips was my chance to give some of that luck back while learning how to build a brand (win-le-win, as the French say).

1) Hit six-figure revenue in 18 months
2) Donated 5.9% of revenue in FY25
3) Funded 24 fresh water wells in Malawi (helping 3.6k+ access clean, reliable water)
4) Covered 225 annual tuition fees since 2018
5) Planted 400 native trees in Ireland
6) Sold 55k+ products, helping to prevent up to 56m plastics from being consumed (depending on conservative estimates)
7) Build an ethos, mission, values and story from scratch, before TikTok and ChatGPT existed (unfortunately for me) - reaching over 12,000 followers at one point before I retired from that craic.

A hell of a journey, and I think proves our initial mission and tagline that “one small change, can make a big impact”.

Marketing or selling a product can be quite easy when it’s coming from a place of honesty and authenticity…

Most brands wouldn’t show the dints, marks, and grime but ultimately, that’s what demonstrates durability and usability… which I’m quite happy with.

This reusable has been with me about 4 years.

It’s seen the world.

It’s got a few dents, a few marks and best of all, what I like to call ‘personality’!

Our latest fresh water well has been constructed in Malawi, with our latest partnership with Motors Dublin and Cork!

This partnership, will provide all new clients of MSL motors with customised stainless steel reusables, with potential to remove over 378,000 single use items from consumption annually based on one reuse per day over a single use plastic item!

It’s recyclable, means absolutely nothing unless the item gets actually recycled - and the reality is, the majority of items we think get recycled, do not!

Even when it goes in your recycling bin…

Your reminder from team that recycling is unfortunately, somewhat of a myth with ~90% of all plastic ever produced, ending up in landfill or nature.

Custom reusables made easy, made affordable, made to make an impact!

We’ve reached the 35,000 reusable mark - this means, that for every one reuse per day, over the course of a year, nearly 13,000,000 single use items can be removed from consumption helping to keep our school, parks, pitches and communities that little bit cleaner!

5 years ago, we set this up as a ‘hobby’ for a few months, simply because we thought it could ‘do a little good’ and it was ‘the right thing to do’ - safe to say we’re doing just that - albeit, where in the name of god have the last 5 years gone….
