Fresh kit on its way to a new J70 owner. Upgraded halyards, sheets and tackline with lighter 7mm diameter lines for the spinnaker controls making for faster trimming, sets and drops. Tapered and soft shackles on the jib sheet for trimming calibration, low stretch dyneema cores all round.
The pink sheet has a centre take off splice specific to asymmetric spinnaker sheets and more abrasion resistant technora/dyneema cover to match the 1.5x grip auto Ratchamatic blocks. Reducing load on the trimmer so they can race harder for longer.
Loos rig tension gauge to get the set up right with smart pins to lock the settings and stop any unwanted changes happening.
Atlas 2 for peachy starts and making sure they stay fast around the track.

Modern rigid sails and running rigging need modern solutions. These original sheaves on our J109 customers are collapsing under the loads from the carbon sails and dyneema halyards. The remedy is to replace the injection moulded originals with machined replacements complete with oilite low friction bearings. A straightforward but important upgrade

As longtime customers, we are delighted to see them take the win and wishing the best of luck to them at the Wolrd Championships in Greece in just a few weeks.

A few sportsboat halyards, sheets and bits recently. We stock much more than just ropes to keep you on the water. The halyards are tapered as allowed by the class rules saving weight and air drag, finished with lightweight soft shackles on all but the 2:1 main halyard

Get the most out of your high modulus sails by having the right spec for your halyards. This 35 footer is using a carbon 3Di upwind sails so was not getting the benefit with their old spongey halyards. Now upgraded to a prestretched Dyneema core with a Technora cover on the jib halyard and the main halyard is changed to 2:1; both give a significant improvement in reducing stretch and any pulsing as gusts hit. Also changed were the Spinlock clutch cams, now sized correctly for optimum grip. All of the power generated in the sails in transferred into more speed now as the sails hold their design shape

Not everything is for racing. New mooring lines for this Grand Banks before the winter storms roll along. With tidy eye splices in this octoplait line with the right lengths for each cleat. There’s enough stretch in these lines to not to damage any of the deck fittings or creak when the gusts are hitting on those dark nights.
