Alpaca Home is an Irish company bringing you hand crafted Alpaca from the Andes but, before we tell you about us let us explain; what is Alpaca? Alpacas are small animals from the Camel family. They live in the Andes between 3000/5000 metres above sea level. So they have to deal with extreme temperature and condition fluctuation. Thus, Alpaca wool has evolved to become the most luxurious, supremel
y soft and silky wool. As the daily temperatures in the Andes vary from +20c to -20c at night, Alpaca wool has very special thermostatic properties, the wool insulates without weighing down. Also the wool is hypoallergenic as no lanolin is present unlike other wool varieties. This means its hard working but lusciously soft to the touch. We at Alpaca Home decided to begin producing luxurious textiles made from genuine Alpaca to give our customers the opportunity of experiencing wool superior to even Cashmere. Our aim is to bring these fantastic textiles to our customers through products designed with contemporary appeal. We offer a hands on approach from design, to factory, to you. Our entire collection is handmade by dedicated weavers in South America. Our design team is based in Dublin and work tirelessly on each item to create unique pieces you simply won’t find anywhere else. We care because we know you do too.
