Iúrach is a Gaelic word meaning 'abounding in Yew trees'. The Yew tree was revered by many early Europeans for its long life and also for the toxicity of its wood and foliage. It was regularly planted in burial grounds and sacred spaces and used in the inauguration rituals of ancient Kings. It is because of this that we have chosen to include it in our logo.
