Today was all about back-to-school shopping at Blackpool Shopping Centre 📚✏️

I spent the day ticking off all those all-important bits and I’m delighted with what I got! I’m sure I’ve forgotten something (because don’t we always? 😂), but at least I know I can pop back down!

And it’s not just the shopping — you can get the back-to-school haircuts sorted, alterations taken care of, and pretty much everything else on the list, all under one roof.

McCauley Pharmacy has been part of life at Blackpool Shopping Centre for a quarter of a century - and a lot can happen in 25 years.

The mall may look a little different these days, with new signage and improvements taking shape, but ask the team what makes Blackpool special and the answer isn't about the building.

It's the regulars who they know by name. The familiar faces. The quick chats. The people they've watched grow up and come back with families of their own.

That's the kind of community you can't build overnight.

As we give the centre a refresh, we're proud to have people like Ruth and Saoirse, and businesses like McCauley Health & Beauty Pharmacy continuing to be part of its story.

As renewal works continue across in Blackpool, we're investing in a brighter, more welcoming space for everyone who visits. But while the surroundings are changing, it's the people who have always given Blackpool its character.

For Sylvia O'Brien, Shift Manager at McDonald's Blackpool, it's the relationships she's built over the years that stand out the most. From greeting familiar faces each morning to helping host the monthly Seniors' Coffee Morning, she's seen first-hand how the shopping centre brings people together. In her own words, we all know each other, we're all like a big happy family! 🤗
