Meet our Maker: Sabina Lucas Art

Sabina Lucas is a painter and weaver based in Cork. She make colourful, intuitive landscapes and hand-woven pieces that reflect memory, rhythm and material play. Her work is grounded in observation, memory and touch — from the shifting memories of landscapes seen from a train window to the tactile, meditative act of weaving.

She draws on bright palettes and simple forms to create work that feels both familiar and quietly surprising. Inspired by nature, domestic space, and the dialogue between colour, line and texture. Each piece is a conversation between intention and process — a moment captured, remembered and recast. 'Being part of Cork’s making community means everything to me — sharing time, space and creative energy with other makers feeds what I do.'

Meet our Maker: .ie

Noelle Ferris is a Felt Artist originally from Co. Down and currently residing in Co. Cork.

'After my studies at the University of Ulster, I worked as a Podiatrist for 13 years. However, during a career break in 2019, I discovered the art of felt painting and it quickly became my passion. I use a variety of materials including merino wool, silk, and other fibres and threads. I employ both wet and needle felting techniques to bring my creations to life. I am a member of the IFA (International Feltmakers Association) and DCCI (Design & Crafts Council of Ireland).'

Meet our Maker: By Sheree

Sheree Borge is a metal clay artist based in Ballincollig. Using a wide range of clays, tools and techniques such as sculpting, stamping and moulding, she creates unique, handmade pieces of jewellery in sterling silver, bronze and copper, exploring numerous themes including nature and cultural symbols. The earrings and pendants in her 'From My Garden' series are moulded from fresh plants and found objects from her garden and the surrounding County Cork countryside.
