Formally known as “The Ballytoughey loom” Beth Moran Handweaver produces high quality natural fibre hand woven pieces.
I have been trading for over 30 years and have established and international reputation for my work. My focus is primarily on colour and pattern and for the most part each piece is unique. My range of work runs from very fine silk to home grown, home spun and naturally dyed rugs.
Situated on Clare Island in an unspoiled environment with a population of 140 people affords a unique opportunity both in the landscape and the people for an intimate experience of inspiration. We have a small farm of sheep which is a ready resource of wool for spinning and the land has many indigenous plants for dye materials.
I am actively involved with the Crafts Council of Ireland and the Irish Guild of Spinners Weavers and Dyers and do regular shows both here and abroad. As well, we have a small outlet at our workshop on Clare Island which is open from April to October and otherwise by appointment.
New Online Shop
I will shortly be launching an online store where my collections will be available for sale.
