Well I am feeling more me than this me has felt in a while....life gets a little bumpy at times, and filled with big girl pants moments and sometimes just for a second, you forget exactly who you are and which way youre meant to be going. Buuuut today is a good day, it's a happy day, it's a day when blue hair and a smile can rule the world....or maybe that's just rule my world, which they almost never do! As a big Dr Zeuss fan, let's face it the cat in the hat says some wise words, i find that any day i get to quote him brings a smile to my chops. Today I am happy to be doing a job I love, with a work family that are nothing short of fantastic, well they put up with me 5 days a week and never, make that rarely, complain, I am working on renovating a wonderful new home, exciting times, I am challenging my other half with the colour choices for that lovely new home (can you imagine what he's going through, I live in gloriouse technicolour!), I am heading into a summer of calm, filled with adventures, I am drawing again, for fun not just for work, I am exercising regularly, thank you for finally getting me off my bum every week, I am sorta learning to cook, it's always been a challenge, I'm more your stab it 6 times and take it out when it pings kinda girl, but we're getting there, I am watching my garden come to life after the winter, year 5 and it's starting to actually look like a little garden now, I am finally drinking water and not counting my 6 mugs of coffee as proper daily hydration, I am calm, I am sleeping and I am happy. Sometimes, it's just good to share.

Well that really was all about me, but seriously, it's sometimes good to just be greatful for all the things that are going right in your life and take your eye off the bits that aren't...trust me, they'll still be there tomorrow, but gift yourself a good day, a positive day, a day when you walk tall and smile at strangers. So people of portobello you have been warned...cheerful blue haired smiler with a very barky tiny white dog is on the lose today!

Ok we'd say its super chilly today on the quay in Westport, but its always a lively spot to spend an hour. Cant beat some quality time in a bookshop. I cant be the only one who thinks of her books as friends, yep I worry about the characters, wont put it down till I hit a spot when everyones OK and have been known to put a scary book in the freezer just for safety. And you couldnt find a better spot to pop into and grab something to curl up with

Come on you'll be bopping in 5 seconds and singing it all day..it is my ultimate feelgood earworm and I just love it when the people you admire keep exceesing your expectations. is just one of those people. An icon of my time, a women who championed acceptance and marching to the beat of your own drum (now that always resonated with me, not just coz true colours is a brilliant popsong, but it speaks to those who feel unseen and unsure) and her work for women now constantly informs and inspires me. I saw her in concert, big tick off my hero must see list and ahe didnt disappoint either...when I grow up i wanna be Cyndi Lauper.

See, our Halloweeny cards are all about the positives. We love a good spook with good tidings. Such a great time of the year, the colours in nature are spectacular, its cozy evening time, we can get out the bobble hat and hide a bad hair day, it is literally the perfect season....and hot chocolate is almost a necessity to stay warm. Whats not to love about Samhain!
See the joy in the changing seasons and embrace each for their positives...wonder will i still be saying that when the nights are dark in january...watch this space

A little hidden gem of Irishness in Rostrevor, these lovely humans have so many fab bits n bobs you wont just puck up our cupla focal tea towels....so scoot through the big green door and see whats happening in quite frankly one of the most creative shopfronts you're gonna see...libing the gorgeous mural😍

Am i the only one who has will power until the tube is open...those pringles can sit in the cupboard happily with their little seal in place, but once someone breaks it...I'm in like Flynn and there's literally no stopping me. In fact its any crisp really i am a sucker for the savoury. The choccy biccies I can take or leave but show me a ranchero and i'll hunt you down for the packet. I am hoping that admitting my weakness publicly is my first step to recovery...the snacccidents have to stop! And its coming into cosy snacky evening season (thats what i call autumn) so i really need to get a handle on it otherwise the christmas sparkles will be waaaay too tight!

I think this must be the worst time of the year to have a back to school birthday...mines bad enough in July...we were always on holidays, no pals around, no party, just vienetta with the two big brothers when I was little. But a birthday the week you go back to school, even my positive demeanour would struggle to find the joy. So in honour of it we hope anyone with a birthday next week has a Fanta stick day (gettit!)

They are wonderful supporters of Irish craft and creativity and super to work with, great to connect with people who make you smile. Thank you I feel a field trip coming on just to say hello👋

I defo think my best thoughts in the shower...not sure if its the calm sound of the running water or the warmth of the water relaxing my muscles, but I sing, laugh, cry and talk to myself in the shower, it is the battery recharge at the end of the day that rebalances me or the wakeup splash and dash that kick starts my brain. So bad days it picks me up and great days i sing n shake my kaboose...but there is so much research that backs me up, apparently the calm quiet allows your brain make connections between bits of info you already know and find clarity.

When you have one of those days when everything goes right, despite a storm on fhe August bank hol, despite leaving all the things you wanted to get done for the whole weekend till Monday....the planets align and you just make sh*t happen....sometimes i can be superwoman for maybe 4, 5 hours and it is like a tornados hit town...now dont get me wrong it happens rarely and today it was definitely belped by the two extra cupcakes left over from yesterday (thanks Bernie!) Had to burn that sugar rush off someway, but man alive I am now sitting smugly with a fully ticked weekend todo list, I've even walked the tinh white dog....so its time for a scone and a sit i think and channel my inner Alice in Wonderland...I'm gonna think up some more impossible thoughts...or, maybe just have a doodle.
