Weekend Read! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ“šโœจ

"The Ballad of Ronan McCoy" by Colin Morgan ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽถ

Some friendships shape who we becomeโ€ฆ even after everything changes ๐Ÿ’”

Brendan and Ronan McCoy have always been inseparable ๐Ÿ‘€ Ronan is the kind of person who makes life feel lighter, confident, funny, totally at ease in the world, while Brendan quietly carries anxieties he can never quite explain ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿงก

But when tragedy strikes before their final year of school begins, Brendan is forced to navigate friendship, grief, identity, and first love in a world that suddenly feels unfamiliar ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ“–

Tender, heartfelt, and beautifully observed, "The Ballad of Ronan McCoy" captures that uncertain moment between adolescence and adulthood- when everything feels fragile, and every choice matters ๐Ÿ‚โœจ

Written by Northern Irish actor Colin Morgan in his powerful debut novel, this is an emotionally rich coming-of-age story full of warmth, vulnerability, and quiet heartbreak ๐Ÿงก

โœจ โ€œOne of the most moving books I've read in some time.โ€ - John Boyne โœจ

Perfect for readers who love contemporary Irish fiction, unforgettable friendships, and stories that linger long after the final page ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿงก

"The Children" by Melissa Albert ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿก

Some childhoods look magical from the outsideโ€ฆ until the cracks begin to show ๐Ÿ‘€โœจ

Guinevere Sharpe grew up surrounded by stories โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ The daughter of a world-famous childrenโ€™s author, her bohemian Vermont upbringing seemed idyllic, full of art, laughter, creativity, and endless imagination ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿงก

But now, as Guin prepares to publish a memoir about her family, the carefully curated version of her childhood begins to unravelโ€ฆ

Her estranged brother Ennis announces a haunting new art installation called "Mother" ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ”ฅ And buried beneath the mythology of the Sharpe family lies something darker: resentment, grief, obsession- and truths that refuse to stay hidden ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Atmospheric, unsettling, and completely absorbing, "The Children" is perfect for readers who love literary fiction filled with family secrets, artistic ambition, unreliable memories, and slow-burning tension ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ“šโœจ

โœจ โ€œGorgeous and dreadful, I devoured it.โ€ - Mona Awad โœจ

A beautifully eerie summer read for anyone craving something a little darker this season ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ“–
