These photographs are absolutely fabulous, and we really appreciate the time, patience and skill that go into selecting the strongest moments, refining each image and shaping them into a visual story of the performance.

🎭 THE HUMAN CONDITION - INTENSITY CAPTURED THROUGH THE LENS

This latest edited collection of photographs by Noreen Duggan photography captures something incredibly special about The Human Condition - the Tragedy Trilogy performed on the Brewery Lane stage as part of 'The Bard in the Quarter' festival weekend.

There is a particular skill in photographing live theatre: not simply recording what is happening on stage, but becoming caught up in the emotion and intensity of the performance and anticipating that split second when an expression, gesture or interaction tells the story.

That is where Noreen’s photography really comes into its own.

Her eye for expression, emotion and those fleeting moments between performers has captured the intensity of The Human Condition beautifully - the tension, vulnerability, anger, love, fear and conflict unfolding on stage.

And sometimes it is what is happening around the main action that makes a photograph so powerful. The expressions of the actors watching a scene unfold, their concentration and reaction to what they are witnessing, become part of the story too. Noreen has an incredible eye for these moments.

Photography was an important part of The Bard in the Quarter’s visual art and documentation, and we were fortunate to have two outstanding photographers, Noreen Duggan and Pete Smith, documenting the festival throughout the weekend.

Both brought their own distinctive artistic perspective to the project, creating a professional and exceptional visual record of the performances, installations, people, places and atmosphere that made the festival what it was.

These photographs are more than a record of what happened. They form part of the visual legacy of The Bard in the Quarter - preserving fleeting moments of performance and allowing the emotion, energy and creativity of the weekend to live beyond the event itself.

A huge thank you to Noreen Duggan and Pete Smith for giving their time, talent and artistic eye to the festival and for creating such an outstanding visual record of an extraordinary weekend. 📸❤️

Two photographers. Two distinctive perspectives. One incredible visual archive. 🎭👏

And these images from 'The Human Condition' last Saturday night show just how powerful that record can be...🎭❤️
