Roscommon teams are starting to build a real reputation for second-half surges against Mayo. For the second time in as many days, Roscommon produced a powerful second-half performance to force extra time against a brave Mayo GAA side in the Connacht U20 final.

A swirling breeze in Tuam Stadium made clean handling a challenge throughout. But Roscommon showed grit and determination, battling hard for every ball and refusing to be outfought.

Extra time was marked by Roscommon’s relentless intensity, as they found another gear to pull clear and finally see off a valiant Mayo challenge. Great credit to both teams on a terrific game.

It marks a superb victory for Cian Smith, his players, and the entire management team.

Roscommon now advance to an All-Ireland semi-final, provisionally set for Saturday, May 9th, with their opponents yet to be confirmed.
