Why is it in Ireland we tend to always be caught out by a cold snap?

I was walking along the sea front on Friday from Salt hill to Galway city and the footpaths were lethal with Ice.

When I asked the council why didn't they salt them I was amazed by their reply.... "It's cheaper for us to pay claims than to salt the pavements" .......Priceless

The bad news guys there's a storm coming today but here in ireland you'll probably need your Wellies more than your snow grips.

But when it gets to the UK that rain will be turning to snow and Ice with temperatures expected to fall to -10 in the Sunny south East and that's exactly where were heading to to-day....Why cant it start snowing in Liverpool FC , who the hell would want to watch Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea Football Club,......Eddie :-)

Sorry guys that we have been so quite for awhile but we have been on a Snow chasing trip across Europe for the past 3 weeks.
We travelled across the UK, through France and into Italy. It ended up as a cross between an Irish Trade Mission and an episode out of "An Idiot abroad" and Bear Grills.....
We did get a great opportunity to do some great research on all the products esp when the temp dropped to -30 in the French Alps. One of my fav products is probably the cheapest in d shop at only €2.99.
An de-icer that you put into your windscreen washer, it works down to -40 depending on how concentrate you mix it and I was glad of it to see where we were going esp d way James drives :-)
We will try post some photos later, d ice-grips were a great hit with the locals and it was great to get to wear them in all sorts of conditions and we have some more ideas for next season, ESP the grip for your crutches.

We will be having a meeting later to discuss what end of season specials we can organise for yee all ESP as Feb has blown in with her north wind.....KdF guys Eddie

James, Can you ring our manufacturer and see where the hell are those Grips for the Cows or should them call them young bulls? We are getting a lot of calls from the Farming community worrying about their livestock this winter ? :-) Eddie

I haven't seen the snow that they promised but it's bloody freezing in KK and the paths are lethal with Frost and Black Ice.
Not ever sure our grips would be much use, the council need to use salt on them ASAP....Eddie

Unfortunately We couldn't get space in the Kilkenny Xmas Market for today but hopefully for Mon or Tues as there due to get there first snow of the year today at 8.07am roughly.
Had a great chat with one of the City Borough Safety officers and he wants to get some grips in ASAP, as they had so many minor accidents last-year and he had a genuine concern for his lads and lassies. I still think Kilkenny council and Borough are an example of how City's should be run......Eddie

12 Noon on wed the 21st is the latest date to have your orders placed before xmas but try not to leave it too late as the little elves have been bust off week packing orders and some sizes are getting low..
