Richael Timothy has won a gold at the UEC Para-Cycling Road European Championships in Maniago, Italy.
The Ballymoe native backed up her bronze medal in the time trial on Friday by winning the WC3 Road Race yesterday morning.

Some things are bigger than hair, appointments and the everyday rush of life.

Today, my thoughts are with Kay and all of her family as they mourn the loss of a much-loved father, grandfather and family man.

Anyone who knows Kay knows the love, kindness and dedication she gives to everyone around her, and I hope that same love surrounds her and her family in the days ahead.

From all of us, we extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences. May the treasured memories shared bring comfort at this difficult time.

Weekend appointments continue to be the most popular and tend to fill up very quickly, especially for colours, highlights, balayage and longer appointments 💇‍♀️✨

If you're thinking of refreshing your colour, brightening up your blonde, booking highlights, balayage or a complete transformation, Wednesday and Thursday are definitely the best days to secure a longer appointment this week.

Saturday has very limited availability remaining and will only suit a small number of larger appointments, so if you've been thinking about booking in, don't leave it too late 🫶

Midweek Offers are active on Wednesday as always, making it the perfect opportunity to treat yourself while saving a few euro 🤍

🌟 A NEW CHAPTER FOR SOPHIE 🌟

As many of you know, over the last few weeks I've been working closely with our work experience student Olivia, and she has absolutely been smashing it out of the park! Watching her grow in confidence and skill has been such a rewarding experience.

Most of you will also know Sophie, who works with us on Saturdays and whenever she's not in school.

I've genuinely loved teaching Olivia the fundamentals, sharing tips, tricks and everything I've learned throughout my own career. It reminded me of my own training days and just how valuable it is for young people to gain experience in a real salon environment.

So when Sophie asked if I would be interested in starting a training programme with her over the summer holidays, I was delighted.

From her very first day in the salon, I could see she had a genuine interest in hairdressing. She has the passion, enthusiasm and hunger to learn that this industry demands. In many ways, I see a lot of my younger self in Sophie – eager to learn, ready to work and excited to take in every bit of knowledge she can.

Today marked the beginning of her practical training.

We started with straight blow-dries, and after just an hour practising on the training head, she was straight into assisting with my blow-dries in the salon. To say she impressed me would be an understatement – she picked it up incredibly quickly and showed fantastic potential.

Sophie already has her first model lined up for next week, but after that I will be looking for models every Friday afternoon throughout the summer.

One of the biggest misconceptions in hairdressing is that lowlights make you darker. In reality, strategically placed lowlights can actually make your blonde appear brighter, more expensive, and far more natural.

By adding depth and dimension back into the hair, lowlights create contrast, allowing the lighter pieces to stand out even more.
