Funny how the biggest changes in life often end up being the quietest ones ❤️😂
Three and a half years ago, I moved Balla Florists from the main street to a studio at home.
At the time, a lot of people probably wondered what I was doing 😂 But honestly, it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
I still get to create beautiful weddings and flowers every single week… but now I also get this — being home, hearing the madness in the kitchen, football chats, cups of coffee, my dog asleep beside me, and actually being present for the moments that matter.
Over the years, I’ve tried different things, joined different groups, pushed myself outside my comfort zone, and met lots of people along the way. And I think that’s important too — sometimes you have to experience different environments before you truly find where you fit.
For me, the has been that place.
Helping advocate for floristry in Ireland, working alongside genuinely creative and hardworking people, and being around others who truly care about the future of the industry gives me real purpose and energy. It feels meaningful, positive, and aligned with who I am now — both personally and professionally.
I’ve realised too that business doesn’t always have to look the way it once did. Our online ordering, click-and-collect, and delivery systems work brilliantly for people and allow us to work in a calmer, more focused way while still creating meaningful flowers for all of life’s important moments.
And even though we’re studio-based now, we still care deeply about our customers and community. Especially when it comes to sympathy flowers, family occasions, or moments that really matter — I’m always behind the scenes, only a phone call or message away.
Success looks very different to me these days. ❤️💚
Not burnout.
Not noise.
Not constantly being “on.”
Just meaningful work, good people, creativity, balance, family, and a business that genuinely fits the life I want to live.
