Sewing batik (especially hand made ones) is harder than other printed fabrics. The motif may not be 100% precise, its motif orientation may differ on the two halves of the fabric (on pagi sore pieces), even making sure that the whole piece is the right way up takes experience to determine. So if you absoutely have to turn your batik into ready-to-wear clothes, make sure your tailor knows what they're doing with batik. You can also talk to me to find you the perfect piece, and tailor it for you. 😊

🇮🇩Menjahit batik (terutama yang hand made) tidak gampang. Motifnya mungkin tidak presisi, orientasi motifnyajuga terkadang beda di sisi kiri dan kanan kain (untuk kain pagi sore), dan untuk tahu sisi atas kain pun membutuhkan pengalaman. Jadi kalau kamu harus membuat kain batikmu jadi baju ready-to-wear, pastikan penjahitnya pengalaman menjahit batik, atau bisa juga contact saya untuk saya carikan kain batik yang perfect, dan sekalian jahitkan. 😊

Almost this time last year we posted a video on youtube of our favourite ways to style a sarung. lt was just a way to bring our batik collections alive and to your homes as we all had to stay in to protect ourselves and our loved ones from the pandemic.

The buket on this kain is special. Because the Chrysanthemum flowers on it are meaningful in Chinese culture. They bloom in autumn, when other flowers wither, so they are a symbol for autumn, also vitality and tenacity.

Paired with gringsing that symbolises a prayer for health, we hope this kain gives it wearer the energy to stay strong and determined.

The batik style of this sarung is abstract, so the "buket" motif and "glagah (sugar cane flowers)" are not very defined.

What makes this kain special is the light sogan that looks almost golden.

Fantastic even from afar.

The tumpal is decorated with the "lereng" motif, symbolising fertility and prosperity. So it brings with it a prayer of prosperity for whoever wears it.
