MORNING DIYers 🌻🌻🌻
PART 2 ...Usually additive modeling logic is build based on the understanding of the additive manufacturing process, which in this session I will talk about 3d printing and how we use this technology upon the 3d construction logic. As we all know, 3d printing software is depend on the “slicer technology” which build base on layer profile section of the object. The Slicer will produce every individual layer on top of each other with certain accuracy depend on the software or application that you use. With this approached, I come up with the strategies in constructing the 3d model in order to print efficiently and better result. Among those are:
1. Always notice your model orientation relative to the base plate.
2. Be critical to your model size relative to the size of your filament and nozzle sizes
3. Don’t rely only on the support , which created by the application that you use. If your model need support, create your own support, sometimes it does help, rather than you have lots of messy support sorrounding your object.
4. You always have to think about your model proportion, relative to the logic of the prints. Remember your model always better with the bigger footprint in order to print right.
5. Manage your base or design and model it so your object have a firm grip to the printer base.
6. Please carefully study the overhang angle of your 3d printer capability. So you can have particular design object that reflect or even challenge your 3d print capability.
6. Thinking about breakdown print into parts is necessary, but also study the material capability in order to achieve the details of the connections within parts.
