"This is my mom and me dancing on my wedding day.
This is what grief looks like.
Grief hijacks the happiest moments of your life and leaves you vulnerable.
Grief is messy and complicated.
Grief is painful and unless you have lost a person of significance it's difficult to understand how someone can go from joyful to sad in less than 60 seconds.
This is my Mom and me dancing on my wedding day quietly crying because we miss my Dad and our other people of significance on my wedding day, the happiest day of my life.
My mother is the definition of bravery and courage. She took care of my father throughout his illness now takes care of her family in his absence. My mother has held my hand through it all, and I hold hers.
This is what grief looks like 20 months post death. Grief never goes away we simply evolve. So my friends I ask you to mention our loved ones, hug us and know that our hearts will never fully recover. Less judging and more loving."
