In recent years, social media has become one of the biggest gateways for new players entering the world of Trading Card Games.
Pack openings, card hunts, collection showcases, and stories of high-value cards can now reach millions of viewers within hours. It's becoming increasingly common to see products experience a surge in demand after being featured by content creators, influencers, or public figures.
This phenomenon isn't limited to a single game. From Magic: The Gathering, Riftbound TCG, and other TCG and newer titles entering the market, social media continues to play a major role in shaping consumer interest.
On one hand, this exposure helps introduce TCGs to a wider audience and brings new players into the community. On the other hand, it raises questions about how much purchasing decisions are influenced by genuine interest versus trending content.
What do you think?
Has social media helped more people discover a hobby they genuinely enjoy, or has it encouraged people to buy products simply because they're part of the latest trend?
