INTERNATIONAL PRESS RELEASE
It is with regret that we announce we are no longer willing to act as the exclusive Hungarian agents for STI International / Staccato 2011.
With over 30 years’ experience in the gun trade and having been privileged to represent many premiere brands and having been closely associated with many American companies including Midway USA and Brownells USA we cannot in all conscience accept the terms and conditions being offered by Staccato 2011.
In order to properly represent a brand, there is a great deal of work involved with holding stock, advertising, promoting, holding spares and doing any warranty work. In return for this obligation the agent receives “dealer prices” which allows them to make a margin on the product.
The international dealer prices we have received from Staccato 2011 this year are significantly higher than the retail prices for their products. In addition, there are transport costs, import duty, proofing costs and VAT so when the product arrives with us it already nearly doubles the advertised retail price, easily seen everywhere on the internet.
Having spent many years building a reputation for being an honest and professional dealer, for us to then advertise a product at more than double the advertised retail price can only cause harm to our reputation and, more importantly, does not allow us to offer our customers a competitive service.
Whilst we have great respect for Staccato 2011 and their products, we are unable to accept their view regarding international sales. The product is produced at a cost and that cost does not alter wherever the product may end up. Our primary duty is to our customers and to ensure that we do the best for them.
