We have continued to make meaningful progress in 2025 across our sustainability journey. A big thank you to our colleagues, business partners, and loyal customers for supporting us as we work together to build a more sustainable future.

Planet: Progressing our efforts to reduce operational emissions, increase the use of renewable energy, and expand our network of over 4,000 Greener Stores designed to improve resource efficiency.

People: Supporting communities through initiatives such as our Global Youth Employment Pledge, which has supported over 130,000 individuals, and with a target of delivering more than 15,000 surgeries through our Give a Smile programme by 2030.

Products: Enhancing responsible sourcing practices, working with recognised certifications, and continuing to reduce virgin plastic while expanding refill and recycling initiatives in stores.

Today, we welcomed AS Watson volunteers, students from Fanling Government Secondary School, and partners from HKYWCA to Watson House, our headquarters, for the “ICH Song Brocade · Fans, Fun & Heritage” volunteer activity, where we spent a meaningful morning with elderly members from rural communities.

It was especially heartwarming to see many AS Watson volunteers bringing along their children to take part as family volunteers. Together, they learned traditional craftsmanship, engaged with the elderly, and built genuine connections across generations.

Participants also visited the AS Watson Museum to learn about our 185-year heritage, adding cultural depth and meaning to the experience.

Our heartfelt thanks go to all volunteers for making this possible and for helping to carry forward the spirit of cultural preservation and community care.

At the The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology - HKUST Business School’s BizInsight Forum, held at the London Stock Exchange, our Group CEO Malina Ngai shared how AS Watson is rethinking transformation in the age of generative AI—by placing culture, emotion and human connection at its core.

Challenging conventional thinking, Malina highlighted that “AI is horizontal, not vertical”, with impact spanning every function. This insight has shaped AS Watson’s clear direction through a One‑Move AI Strategy, where AI is not deployed in silos, but embedded across the entire organisation.

Rather than positioning AI as a tool, the Group is focused on humanising AI. From AI buddies that spark curiosity and everyday engagement among colleagues, to customer experiences where AI becomes almost invisible, the emphasis is on partnership, not technology.

Looking ahead, Malina reinforced a clear belief: as technology fades into the background, people will remember how we made them feel.

AS Watson marked its 185th anniversary with a media gathering in London, where Malina Ngai celebrated the milestone with the journalists and reaffirm the Group’s belief that lasting partnerships are built through genuine engagement.

Celebrating this occasion in the UK was especially meaningful, as it is where the Group’s story began in 1841. Our origins trace to British pharmacist Alexander Skirving Watson, who founded the business that continues to carry his name.

Today, AS Watson operates 1,500 stores in the UK across Superdrug, Savers Health and Beauty and The Perfume Shop, and is home to the Group’s European Data Science and Digital Marketing hubs. Our UK businesses continue to serve customers across all age segments and deliver sustainable growth.

From a single pharmacy to the world’s longest standing and largest international health and beauty retailer, AS Watson enters its next chapter with gratitude for its heritage and confidence in its future.
