SECOVE in Athens. The European journey on sustainable energy comes to an end 🌍⚡🇪🇺
On May 21–22, 2026, Athens hosted the final event of SECOVE – Sustainable Energy Centres of Vocational Excellence, the Erasmus+ project that over the past four years has connected vocational education, research, innovation and businesses across five European countries.
The two-day event focused on sustainable energy, green transition and future skills, culminating in the international competition dedicated to applied research and innovation in the energy sector.
Finalist projects from Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and Slovakia were presented before an international jury composed of academics, researchers and industry representatives.
The competition featured two categories:
🔹 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree theses focused on sustainable energy
🔹 Applied projects developed by students from VET centres, technical institutes and ITS programmes
The event fully reflected SECOVE’s mission: building concrete connections between education, sustainability, innovation and industry.
A key role was played by the five Innovation Hubs established in partner countries, where students, teachers and companies collaborated to develop technologies, prototypes and innovative solutions for Europe’s sustainable future.
The Athens final marked the conclusion of the SECOVE journey while leaving behind an important legacy: a strong European network linking education, research and industry, capable of preparing the next generation of technicians and researchers for the green transition.
