I've always felt that art and cartoons should be on objects that accompany us in our everyday lives. So, in 2020 I decided to create Curious Attic, a brand of handmade art specifically designed for home decor, accessories and greeting cards, balancing elements from the romanticism of art nouveau and the playfulness of comics.

Η αφίσα που είχα την τιμή να σχεδιάσω για το 10ο Chaniartoon Festival International Comic & Animation Festival, ένα από τα πιο ποιοτικά και artist based φεστιβάλ στην Ελλάδα.

Τα λέμε στα Χανιά τον Σεπτέμβρη!

Έφτασε στη χώρα περνώντας μια αληθινή Οδύσσεια που οι περισσότεροι από εμάς ούτε μπορούμε να διανοηθούμε, και έφτιαξε αυτό το μαγαζάκι απ’το μηδέν.

Η περιοχή έγινε σιγά σιγά πιάτσα, φύτρωσαν κι άλλα μαγαζιά τριγύρω. Ήταν απτούς ελάχιστους που κράτησε τιμές γειτονιάς και όχι gentrification. Έφερε μέσα του την σπάνια πια έννοια της κοινότητας και παρότι «ξένος» μας έκανε να νιώθουμε πιο οικεία στην γειτονιά μας από τους συμπατριώτες μας στους οποίους πληρώνουμε πλέον 3 ευρώ τον καφέ.

Πάντα είχε κάποιο δώρο και κάποια έκπληξη για τα παιδιά της γειτονιάς, στην Κλειώ που είχαν και μια αδυναμία μεταξύ τους βρήκε κούκλα με φούξια μαλλιά που ήθελε, και τώρα το καλοκαίρι την χαιρέτησε με δώρο ένα ζευγάρι όμορφα καλοκαιρινά παπούτσια.

Μας ανακοίνωσε πως κλείνει γιατί ο σπιτονοικοκύρης αποφάσισε να ανεβάσει 200 ευρώ πάνω την τιμή. Στεναχωρηθήκαμε αφάνταστα. Γιατί είναι άδικο αλλά και γιατί θα τον χάσει η γειτονιά, και εμείς.

Εύχομαι κάποια ανατροπή, να βρει κάτι φανταστικό παραδίπλα ή να τον παρακαλάει ο σπιτονοικοκύρης να το ξανανοικιάσει στα μισά λεφτά…

Ήσουν ζωντανό και αυθεντικό κομμάτι της γειτονιάς και της ζωής μας, ήμασταν τυχεροί που σε είχαμε, δε θέλουμε να σε αποχωριστούμε!

✦ Guide to Modern Self Care ✦
“The gentle art of not being self-absorbed”

‪‪❤︎‬ My inspiration for making this was actually irritation, from watching care becoming a product. In a time when “self-care” is branded, packaged, and sold back to us, we are taught to look inward, selfishly, distanced from everything and everyone. As identity becomes curated and mirrored through social media, we risk confusing performance with presence, and narcissism with growth. There is no care of the self that does not pass through care for unity, respect, nature, for the fragile systems that hold us. To tend to yourself is to tend to the world that makes you possible. The crane depicted—keeper of balance— moves between earth, water, and sky: a symbol of longevity, wisdom, and mutual respect.
