If you've been following my stories, you'll know that I've spent the past 6 weeks or so developing a new glaze from scratch. Glaze development is so time consuming but nothing beats the joy of making a glorious glaze from a bunch of powders. Makes me feel like a wizard :D Here's one of the glaze iterations on one of the mini hex sauce pots, isn't it beautiful?

A little project I briefly worked on back in March ✨🐳
It took less than 3 weeks from conception to the finished piece (last minute inspiration, short deadline, stressful times!)
I knew the decoration had to be blue because it is a very well behaved underglaze and I didn't have any time for surprises. Plus I had an underglaze pencil in the same colour so they would work well together.
Something blue, something I could draw, so a humpback whale it is 🐳
Loved the challenge of making something like this, so out of my depth!
Fun thing is, a week after my partner's other brother (whose wife was also pregnant) also has a baby boy so we had to rush to make another plate! A different decoration this time though ;)

July in the studio tested my patience. Any time before 9am was rush hour for all mosquitos looking for breakfast 🦟 and any time between 9am and 1pm I was dripping from the sweat 💦 Not looking forward to August :D
Having said that, I did manage to squeeze in a 10 day staycation and still make some progress with work so all is good ✨

I'm working on this lifestyle photoshoot in my head. I want to showcase my products whilst in use. A nice table, perhaps outside in the garden, a pretty tablecloth, some flowers and lots of yummy food in my tableware. Thinking I'll use this gorgeous platter to host a Greek salad. This glaze will make the juicy summer tomatoes really pop 🍅✨, do you agree?

I have really enjoyed making these abstract brush stroke plates. Just me and my paintbrush and lots of room to play ✨

This reel was a last minute idea. It was going to be a full on but nice day and I thought it would be fun to record some snippets from it. Just to be clear: not all days are as nice so hope I'm not romanticising the life of a potter - mostly it's days of endless stress to be honest. But once in a while I get days with flexible schedule, lots of varied and challenging work and moments to enjoy myself outside of work :)

This form came about from a failed mold. It's a perfect little trinket dish, dessert plate or a beautifully fitting saucer for a hexagon planter I'll be releasing soon.
Most of all, I love the visually pleasing honeycomb structure they create when placed next to each other 🐝
Featuring a close up of a wildly beautiful glaze I'm currently trying to tame 😅

I shared another one of those 9 months ago and it's safe to say the studio has changed a fair bit since then. Beautiful wooden shelves have been added, my pots in various stages everywhere plus a small shop ✨
This space is becoming my happy place :)
