AKATAKYIA UK DONATES TO ALMA MATER
Old students of Opoku Ware Secondary School have donated some items to the school to help in the fight against the novel Corona Virus.
Led by its President J. B Danquah on behalf of Akatakyie Uk, they presented a number of items to the school which included -100 pieces of face shields ,10 gallons of liquid soap (25 litres each) ,20 jumbo packs of tissue , 20 gallons of hand sanitizers (5 litres each) valued at GHS7,000.00.
The headmaster, Rev. Fr. Stephen Owusu-Sekyere, expressed the school’s deep appreciation for the gesture by Akatakyie UK and indicated that they were very timely. He assured that the items would be used expeditiously to ensure that students and staff were safe at all times.
He further indicated that the students were very diligent in following the Covid-19 safety protocols. He said students are in the right frame of mind to write their examinations and he was confident the process will go smoothly.
On behalf of the fraternity, NEC would like to express its immense gratitude to Akatakyie UK for their gallant efforts to support the school in its fight against the pandemic and to ensure that students and staff remained safe at all times to engender a safe learning environment.
We hope that other groups will be inspired to step up and assist the school in the future.
