Born in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Grenada, Mr. Mitchell's journey has been defined by determination and an entrepreneurial spirit. As a young boy, he sold popcorn and snow cones during Carnival on the Carenage, learning first-hand the value of hard work, customer service, and personal responsibility. Those early experiences not only helped finance his education but also laid the foundation for the resilience, discipline, and ambition that continue to shape his career.
His connection to Huggins spans generations. When Mr. Mitchell was just three years old, his father, Mr. Julian Mitchell, began what would become a distinguished 37-year career with the company, retiring as Manager of Foodland Market Square. Growing up, he witnessed the pride, integrity, and commitment his father brought to his work each day, inspiring him to pursue a career built on those same values.
Joining the Huggins Automotive Division at just 19 years old, Mr. Mitchell quickly immersed himself in every aspect of the business. Over the next 21 years, he gained extensive experience across the Parts, Service, and Vehicle Sales departments, intentionally broadening his knowledge of the automotive industry while preparing himself for greater leadership responsibilities.
His professional experience has been complemented by a strong commitment to academic achievement. In 2020 he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sales Management with Distinction from Edinburgh Napier University, further strengthening the expertise and leadership capabilities he brings to his role.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mitchell has become known for his passion for excellence, his customer-focused approach, and his belief that growth comes through continuous learning and embracing new challenges. His leadership philosophy is rooted in empowering teams, encouraging innovation, and creating an environment where people are inspired to reach their full potential.
As Divisional Manager, Mr. Mitchell now assumes responsibility for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Sales, Parts, and Service departments within the Huggins Automotive Division.
