Step inside York’s Chocolate Story in the heart of the city and embark on an immersive guided tour that takes you from the rainforests of Central America - where the cocoa bean was first discovered - to its arrival in Europe and eventually York. Here, you’ll uncover the stories of the city’s most famous chocolate-making families - Rowntree, Terry, Tuke and Craven, and learn how they transformed ch

ocolate from a luxury for the few into the beloved treat we know today. Along the way, discover surprising secrets and fascinating facts about York’s greatest creations, from the Chocolate Orange to the world-famous KitKat. Enjoy plenty of delicious samples, decorate your own chocolate lolly, and watch our skilled chocolatiers at work. When your tour is complete, enjoy an indulgent hot chocolate from our café, or browse our shop for irresistible treats to take home. Open daily 10am - 5pm
