What a brilliant evening! ✍️🎭

Last night we were delighted to welcome Yeovil Poets Society to The Emporium Café for their Heroes + Villains live poetry night.

And what a turnout! ❤️

Our café was transformed into a wonderfully atmospheric little performance space, filled with poets, performers, storytelling, laughter and plenty of creativity.

We love seeing The Emporium used like this — bringing people together and giving local groups and performers somewhere a little different to meet, create and entertain.

A huge thank you to Yeovil Poets Society for choosing The Emporium to host the evening, and to everyone who came along and made it such a success.

At At The Nook, every piece is lovingly collected with one thing in mind: helping you create that wonderfully relaxed, timeworn French country look.

Think rustic timber, faded paint, dried lavender, old mirrors, vintage artefacts, pretty paintings and those quirky little finds that somehow make a room.

🧸 Every teddy has a story…

Some are pristine and collectable.
Some have uniforms and personalities.
And some are a little threadbare, slightly wonky and quite clearly very well loved.

There’s something rather special about an old teddy bear. The rubbed-away fur, a repaired paw or a slightly crooked nose can tell you that this wasn’t simply a toy — it was once somebody’s treasured companion.

At The Emporium, two of our independent traders — Steve’s Collectibles and Forged Emporium — have gathered together quite an extraordinary assortment of bears.

From vintage Chad Valley bears and nostalgic old teddies to colourful modern collectables and Ty Beanie Babies, there are bears for serious collectors, bears that take you straight back to childhood…and perhaps one or two simply waiting for their next home.

And we think the slightly battered ones might just be our favourites. ❤️

Introducing The Cocktail Safari at The Emporium Café

For months we’ve been quietly working on something completely new behind the scenes… and tomorrow evening our very first explorers will set off on their adventure.

The Cocktail Safari isn’t simply a cocktail evening. It’s a two- hour immersive experience inspired by the Grand Tour of Mr Wyndham, whose travels across Europe and beyond helped shape the beautiful Wyndham House that we now call home.

On arrival you’ll be welcomed with a complimentary Explorer’s Welcome Cocktail before receiving your own Explorer’s Passport and setting off on a guided expedition through our beautifully themed zones.

Along the way you’ll discover the stories behind each destination, enjoy live cocktail demonstrations, sample three signature cocktails, collect destination stamps and enjoy themed nibbles inspired by the places you visit.

Every zone has its own story. Every cocktail has its own inspiration. Every explorer leaves with memories to take home.

Collect all eleven destination stamps over future Cocktail Safaris and you’ll unlock The Wyndham Reserve – our complimentary signature cocktail, reserved exclusively for explorers who complete the Grand Tour.

We’re almost fully booked for tomorrow night’s inaugural expedition. We may be able to squeeze in two or three more explorers, but if you miss out, don’t worry—we’ll be announcing future expedition dates very soon.

🎬 Lights, camera… The Emporium!

Today was one of those days that reminds us just how special this place is.

We were delighted to welcome the BBC One Escape to the Country film crew, who chose The Emporium as one of their filming locations during a day of shooting in Yeovil.

From mid morning, our café became their base for the day – somewhere to plan, recharge over coffee, and capture some wonderful footage. It was lovely watching the team at work, and even lovelier hearing how much they enjoyed exploring our three floors of independent shops and spending time in the café.

There’s always a little buzz when television comes calling, but what made today memorable was hearing genuine compliments about what we’ve created here. It makes us incredibly proud.

A huge thank you to the production team for spending the day with us. We can’t wait to see the finished programme when it airs!
