Nantwich Show 2026 🌾🐄

What a fantastic day at the Nantwich Agricultural Show on 29th July 2026! It was great to see so many people coming together to celebrate our local farming community and countryside traditions.💕

From livestock and machinery to local food, trade stands, and family fun, it was a brilliant day filled with friendly faces and great memories.

We also saw , Shame we didn’t get the chance to meet you! Maybe next time💚

What to Sow in August

August is one of the best months for sowing crops that thrive as temperatures begin to cool. Shorter days and cooler weather mean many leafy greens grow with better flavour, are less likely to bolt, and often suffer from fewer pests. Keep newly sown seeds consistently moist, and during hot spells, provide a little afternoon shade to improve germination.🌱

Red spider mites can be tiny, but the damage they cause certainly isn’t! 🥲

Keep an eye out for…

👀Tiny pale or yellow speckles on leaves

👀Fine webbing

👀Leaves drying out or dropping early

They THRIVE in hot, dry conditions, so one of the best ways to discourage them is to keep plants well watered and increase the humidity of your greenhouse!! 🕸️❤️

Heatwaves can be tough on your garden, but a few simple steps make all the difference!

Water deeply in the early morning or evening, add a layer of mulch to lock in moisture and give vulnerable plants a little afternoon shade like fleece if you can.

The recent heatwave is the likely culprit. High temperatures can reduce pollination, causing flowers to drop before they form pods. 🌡️
