Today was a big day for Off-Grid Prizes. 👀

For the last 2 years we’ve been based in our previous unit — the place where we built the VW T2 that we gave away at the end of last year, and where my partner Adrian spent countless evenings and weekends working on vehicle projects alongside his full-time job.

But now things are changing 😬

Today we moved into a new, bigger workshop in Shrewsbury as we take the next step forward.

Next up is the off-road VW LT build.

We’ve spoken about this project before, and it probably feels like a while since we last mentioned it, but we’re finally getting closer to it becoming a reality. This is going to be a massive restoration and fabrication project, and as far as we know it will be the first non-factory VW LT running Nissan Patrol 4x4 running gear 😬

In less than a month’s time, we’re also giving up our home so we can fully commit to this next chapter. Adrian will also be leaving his full-time job to go all in on the build and on Off-Grid Systems — our new campervan electrical installation business based in Shrewsbury.

Off-Grid Systems will focus on professionally installed off-grid electrical systems for campervans and motorhomes, including lithium battery systems, solar, inverters, DC-DC charging, diesel heaters and more.

And to celebrate the launch of Off-Grid Systems, we’re also giving you the chance to win a professionally installed Off-Grid Campervan Power System (competition now live on Off-Grid Prizes).

It’s exciting, terrifying and a huge leap all at the same time… but it finally feels like we’re building the future we’ve talked about for the last few years. 🍾🥳
