We’re looking forward to sharing this recent fitting with you, along with a closer look at a saddle designed specifically with the rounder native type in mind.

Wide native types can bring their own considerations when it comes to saddle fitting - particularly horses with flatter backs, broad shoulders and little-to-no wither.

And simply choosing a wider saddle isn’t necessarily the answer. The saddle needs to accommodate the horse’s shape and shoulders whilst remaining balanced and stable.

We captured the fitting from start to finish, so we’ll be sharing more from the process and taking a closer look at the saddle over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Why do some saddles have one flap, and some have two?

Today, monoflaps are especially popular in eventing and dressage, while plenty of show jumpers still stick with the structure of a dual flap. Both have stuck around for good reason!
