Construction of new tunnel started today as we adapt to climate change. This will protect certain species from the constant winter wet and with open sides will protect from the increasingly harsh summer sun. Thanks to the brilliant team Northern Polytunnels who are working in this heat.

Delighted to have been at Wimbledon again this week admiring the wonderful planting arrangements using favourites with the Wimbledon colours such as Hydrangea Limelight. I especially loved the display of the old roller which in its day was pulled by the amazing working horses, my how times have changed. Let’s give a shout out to the dedicated team of groundsmen who have worked in extreme temperatures to keep everything in top class condition as always. Wimbledon

Being a Fellow of Perennial introduces you to some of the most interesting and enthusiastic people in horticulture. I was lucky enough to spend the day yesterday with a group touring the wonderful planting and architectural landscaping of Kings Cross and The Aga Khan Centre. Stephen Crisp was our fabulous guide giving us an insight into his many years as Head Gardener of The US Embassy in London and showing us how design and planting is so important at Kings Cross for all to benefit . The roof garden at the Aga Khan Centre was spectacular and a haven of peace and contemplation.
