What is the Microbiome?

We hear the word ‘Microbiome’ a lot but what exactly is it? READ ON...

Our Microbiome is home to the microbes that live throughout the length of the digestive tract. We exist in a complex environment, one which is constantly interacting with the world around us.

These microbial colonies coexist with us and play a huge role in our overall health and how we feel and function yesterday, today and tomorrow!

These gut microbes are friend and foe and balance is crucial. An imbalance of unhealthy bacteria and/or low levels of friendly bacteria are responsible for a wide array of common health problems and every day symptoms by causing inflammation and gut barrier function breakdown: also known as ‘leaky gut’.

Too many “nasties” in the gut can wreak havoc and cause the following:
• A Hyper alert immune system
• Changes in our appetite and weight
• Influence our mood, stress and sleep

So what to do?

Create the ideal home for a thriving Microbiome……..stay tuned for how…….
