Today's post goes to thank Jo Bishop Embury - and her lovely grandson who enjoyed arranging the fruits of her yarn-based labour - and she is very nearly at her pledge target of 200! Important Announcement:

Craft Coop has been part of your community for 15 years. We have seen makers sell their first piece. We have run creative sessions in care homes and with community groups. We have welcomed thousands of visitors through our doors and given hundreds of local creatives a place to grow.

We have also lost people along the way who made us who we are. Four years ago, we said goodbye to our co-founding director Deborah Jones. Her warmth, her vision and her belief in what community can do when it comes together - that is what drives us still.

Now we are taking a big step forward - for Deborah, for the wider community and for the next generation of people who will walk through our doors.

We are transitioning Craft Coop to a charity (a Charitable Incorporated Organisation), and to do it properly we need specialist legal and governance support. We are raising £10,000 to cover those costs - and we are asking our community to help.

Every pound goes directly towards this work. And in return:

- £10+ gets you a handmade thank-you card made by one of our Coopers
- £25+ adds a digital Coop Supporter badge
- £100+ includes a half-price workshop place
- £250+ unlocks a private craft session with Michelle, our Creative Outreach Lead - perfect for a community group, care home, workplace team or a celebration with friends

Store manager Liam has donated yarn and crochet hooks to help us hit our target of 10,000 handmade poppies – and we'll soon be running a free learn-to-crochet session in their store in Windsor Royal soon. Watch this space for details!

What a lovely way to spend a relaxing Sunday morning!

Emma ran a wonderful workshop showing us how to create beautiful mandala stones. We may have a little way to go before we can produce anything quite as stunning as the pieces she has for sale in the shop, but everyone came away with a good feel for the technique and plenty of enthusiasm to try another one.

Rather than our regular Friday Fun Fact, we thought an update was overdue...!

🌺 4,000 Thank Yous… and counting! 🌺

When we launched the Windsor Community Poppy Project, we hoped the community would get behind it. You have absolutely exceeded our expectations.

We have now collected around 4,000 handmade poppies and have a further 2,000 pledged, meaning we’re already over halfway towards our 10,000 poppy target for this autumn’s remembrance installation at Windsor Parish Church.

Every single poppy represents somebody’s time, creativity and commitment to remembrance. From knitting groups and care homes to schools, families and individuals, people have been contributing from Windsor and far beyond.

With more schools, community groups and organisations joining every week, the momentum is really starting to build.

A huge thank you to everyone who has made, donated, taught, encouraged, shared posts, supplied yarn or simply cheered us on so far. ❤️

The challenge now?
We still need another 4,000 poppies to reach our target… and we may soon need somewhere to store them all! 😄

🌺 Join one our poppy picnic at Alexandra Gardens on 27.6, 12-4pm
