100 years of learning, friendship and community.

The Guild for Lifelong Learning is celebrating its centenary with a special retrospective exhibition, bringing together artwork, archive photographs and stories that showcase the people who have made it such an important part of life in Wilmslow.

From students and tutors to volunteers and supporters, the Guild has brought generations of people together to learn new skills, discover new passions and build lasting friendships.

CLIMBING WALL IN THE CARRS.

Looking for something fun to keep the kids busy this summer? Wilmslow Town Council has brought a fully-staffed climbing wall to the Carrs and it’s completely FREE!

Perfect for adventurous kids aged 4+, this is a chance to have a go, challenge yourself and burn off some energy outdoors.

It’s on today and on Wednesday 26 August, 10.30am to 4.30pm.

No need to book, just turn up and climb. Children need to wear shoes or trainers with laces or Velcro. No sliders or Crocs.

There are lunch deals... and then there’s a lunch cooked from recipes that have been in the family for generations.

We popped into Stolen Lamb Restaurant on Water Lane to try their new lunch menu and it’s safe to say, this isn’t your average midday meal.

For £16.95, you get two courses of traditional Greek cooking, served with the kind of hospitality that keeps people coming back. And yes... we finally tried Grandad’s chips. They’re every bit as good as the rumours suggest.

M1 Nails is relocating to a brand new home at 13 Bank Square, right opposite Waitrose.

They're still in the process of moving, so don't head there just yet, but keep an eye out, as they'll soon be welcoming clients from their new location.

We can't wait to see the new salon and wish the team the very best with the move.

And if you fancy trying something new, Browns Wilmslow has launched its Taste of Summer evening set menu, with two courses from £25 or three from £30, available Monday to Friday from 6pm.

Expect seasonal favourites with a fresh summer twist, from Burrata & Tomato Salad featuring Isle of Wight tomatoes to Risotto Verde with British asparagus. And for dessert? Elderflower and Lemon Posset or a British Strawberry and Basil Eton Mess.
