Match Result: Saturday 16th August 2026
Venue: Kingsland Reservoir

Second visit to Kingsland for this year and the warmest of welcomes from Dominic and Heidi, although the weather was at last just starting to cool following the fifth heatwave of 2026. The fish were all up in the water on the Small Carp lake with plenty of them active in all areas of the lake.

Today's anglers would be competing for the Dennis Clarke Cup. Donated by Nobby Clarke who had a tackle shop in Deeping St James. As well as the fourth and final round of the Fenland Cup, it is also the Final of the Individual Knockout Trophy.

Thirteen anglers in the draw and amongst them Pete Wray who is the current holder of the Dennis Clarke Cup and would be looking to retain his crown for the third consecutive year. Current Fenland Cup holder Jason Chatham is in need of overturning a three point deficit to retain his crown from the current leader in this years competition Dave Preston. But a new name would be going on the Knockout Trophy with David Pike fishing against Dave Preston.

Dave Preston was the “winner that takes it all” with a superb shallow fishing session on pellets. Dave finished with 231 lbs 7 oz from lake end Peg number 17. That is over 557lb of fish in his 2 visits to Kingsland this year. Starting on top 3 and later moving out to top 5, Dave fished 8mm pellets over 4mm feed pellets.

Second place on the day was our regular guest angler Stuart Redman with 226 lbs 4 oz from peg number 12. Stuart quickly switched to 8mm pellets over sloppy 4mm pellets in the margin after he realised shallow just wasn’t working for him.

Third place was Paul Sugarman with 100 lbs 7 oz from peg number 11. Paul fished 8mm pellets on the bottom over 4mm pellets on the top 4.

Fourth Place to Elliot Capper with 95 lbs 12 oz from peg number 5.
