I help local children access books and enjoy reading through running community events, helping nurseries and schools gain free books and supporting parents/carers with purchasing high quality books for kids 📚

💛WEM - Look for a Book is back today! 💛

Later this morning, we will be back in Wem for an end of Summer holidays book hunt!

Books will be hidden in the local area for you and your little ones to search for and if you find one you can keep it to read!

📚 2026 is the National Year of Reading and Lainey’s Little Bookshelf is on a mission to get as many books as possible directly into the hands of children

Inside the book bags you will find a book (ideal for nursery and Key Stage 1 aged children) and our leaflet where you can scan the QR code to enter the Usborne Free Prize Draw to be in with the chance of winning £100 worth of Usborne books 🤩

🤩 THIS has to be my favourite one yet! 😆

New release for the Usborne That’s Not My… range!

✨ And we all know about Cinnamon the capybara’s great escape from Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World back in 2024! (For those who don’t know, she returned safely eventually!)

⭐ All of these books…😮

For reference, each one of these piles of books came up to just below my hip (I am 5ft 3”) I wasn’t brave enough to attempt one huge tower of books because I may never be found if they tumbled over! And they will all be making their way to Sir John Talbot's School and Sixth Form

✨ Over £1,000 worth of books have been purchased from their Sponsored Reading Challenge for their students to enjoy without needing to use any of the school budget!

If your nursery or school would like this kind of delivery without needing to touch your budget, you absolutely can! Even better, you will also be helping children of all ages discover their love of reading by doing so 📚

⭐ You raised £630.05 from your sponsored reading challenge which means you have a total of £1008.08 to spend on books for your school!!!

📚 I look forward to delivering your books at the beginning of September and a massive thank you to all of your students friends and family who helped raise this huge amount for your school!

📚 Help a Child Start Strong This September 💛

Starting a new school year can be overwhelming for some children and young people.

New faces, new routines, new pressures. Many feel anxious about big changes.

Whether they are starting school for the first time, going into a new year group, classroom or moving on to secondary school.
