Compton Quilting Services.

Compton Quilting Services. We turn your patchworks into quilts, with either an all over pattern or tailored designs. As a guide, to quilt a top measuring 70” x 90” would cost £120.00.

Prices are based on the size of your top and whether or not you also want to buy backing fabric and/or wadding from us. We have a wide range of threads, backing fabrics and a range of waddings to suit every quilt.

At long last, ladies we are back up and running. The Gammill has returned from emergency surgery and today the first quilt was completed. The relief is amazing and the team is raring to go. We look forward to seeing all of you who have patiently waited for us to be fully operational again. Please book an appointment to bring your top or if you plan to send it, it would help enormously to have a colour photo with the dimensions in INCHES so we can work out an estimate for you and send ideas for threads, backings and quilting designs. Even if your time scale is vague, we’re happy to book in your top.

Hi everyone. The Gammill is finally back from its service, with all parts freshly burnished and ready to go.
Because of holidays etc, we are not quite up to full strength, but by the end of the month we’ll be quilting up a storm as usual.
Let us know if you want to book a quilt in, even if it’s not quite finished yet, so we can be sure to fit in with your schedule.
meantime , happy piecing!

These are some of the quilts I made during lockdown. I don’t know whether to be proud or embarrassed to declare that I didn’t buy any new fabric except for a very kind length of border fabric from Yvette Ness who took pity in my hour of need for the pineapple quilt with fabrics by Janet
Clare.
All are destined for various good causes, except the Irish Change rainbow quilt which is for my daughter.
I have a theory that quilters all own a secret magic porridge/fabric pot, because no matter how much you use, there are always bits left. 16 quotes and counting and I still don’t have any empty boxes-how does that work??
It would be remiss of me not to mention that no matter how much piecing I did, all of the quilting was done by Collette Spice, who is not only my dream co-worker at Compton Quilting Services, but also a wonderful friend, and without her I would have 16 tops and counting waiting to be finished.

My first attempt with my new Ricky Tims Die for the Accuquilt Go, bought at FOQ. I'm always looking for ways to use rainbow batiks and this was just begging to escape from my stash into a project.
Our first class of the new term is on Wednesday and we're really looking forward to seeing everyone .
The collection of blue and silver fabrics is part of the range used in our Mystery Christmas Quilt.
