About Us

On the 14th of December 2018, we opened our doors in the village of West Kirby. Our aim - to raise funds for the North Wirral branch of CP. We started out as a team of two, a manager (that's me) and an assistant manager. Desperate for volunteers, it took us two weeks to set up our shop ready for the grand opening. When we flung open the doors, not knowing what to expect, we hoped to raise a bit of cash for the branch...

Fast-forward to the end quarter of 2019. There's myself (I'm still here!) along with our wonderful assistant manager Marianthi. We also have a core team of 20 dedicated volunteers, help from local businesses and, most importantly, fantastic support from our lovely customers. As well as Wirralians we have plenty of regulars from Liverpool and beyond; tourists from St. Petersburg, Madrid & Sao Paolo; we've had Australians, Americans, you name it! Our little shop has been visited by so many people since we opened the doors back in December 2018.

We're so proud of our little shop. But what exactly makes us tick? I thought I'd shed some light on a day in the life of charity retail, and let you all in on the back-stage action.

To keep our shop looking fresh, we process a minimum of 800 items of clothing per week. Each item is checked, priced & steamed before it makes it past the final inspection for the shop floor. That's over 100 items per day! We also make sure that we keep our books, bric-a-brac, accessories & media departments well-stocked, to give you guys plenty to choose from.
