Rosa Mainzer Fastnacht-Blue Moon Rose - Climbing Rose

Award winning rose - Silvery lilac fragrant flower - Autumn Rose hips

Also known as Sissi Rose. One of the best known lavender climbing roses. The cool lilac colouring resembles the blue moon giving it its nick name. This veriety is still the most popular of the so called blue roses. Its flowers are very full, fragrant silvery lilac. It has light green glossy leaves and grows vigorous upright and reaches hights of 300cm. Also suitalble as a cut flower for indoor displays. Mainzer Fastnacht has been awarded The Royal Horticultural Society Garden Merit Award as well as Gold Medal Rome. This rose will produce Autumn rose hips if the last flush of flowers are not removed. Please note this is a prickly plant.

If you are planting next to wall or fence, allow at least a 12inch gap for space for the roots to grow. If planting in a pot you will need a deep pot for the roots.

Rosa Heidetraum Plus Rose - Pink Flowering Rose Bush

Long flowering season with semi doulbe pink blooms - Followed with Autumn rose hips - Easy to look after.

Heidetraum has raspberry pink saturated semi double blooms, with visable golden stamens once fully open, followed with Autumn rose hips. The flowers are perfectly rosette - shaped and form in large sparys. The petals are slightly ruffled and informal. The leaves are a light green oval shaped with a semetrical teeth edge. Unlike most roses these are less prickly and easier to handle, also they produce repeat flushes, so after one lot of flowers fade it will produce another lot, continuing for months. Reaching hights of 60 - 90cm tall and 80 - 120cm wide. It is also a very easy rose to look after. The rose hips will provide food for the birds in the winter.

Fargesia Rufa Bamboo

Fast growing bamboo - Frost hardy evergreen - Tropical hedging plant.

Native to western China, Fargesia Rufa is easy to grow bamboo that is a great option as a hedging plant, ornamental plant in flower beds, and rockeries and will also do well in large pots. We would recommend using a bamboo barrier to keep it compacted to the area you wish to grow as roots can be difficult to remove. Water well especially during dry seasons. Each clump will reach heights of 1.4 m tall and 1.5 m wide. It is propagated chiefly by division of the rhizome. Grows well in sand and chalk.

European Black Elderberry -Black Elder Sambucus Nigra

Alchemilla Mollis - Lady‘s Mantle Perennial

RHS Award winning ground cover plant - Clumping herbaceous perennial - Medicinal herb

Our well established Alchemilla Mollis is a clumping herbaceous perennial native to Southern Europe. Grown as an ornamental plant from Spring until Autumn. Usually found in woodlands. Appreciated for the way its wide palmate leaves veined, with a scalloped and serrated margin holds water droplets after the rain. Small yellow bushy flowers come into bloom from June to September Ladys mantle makes a great ground cover or gap filling plant. The flowers will self seed.

The plant can be used as a herbal tea or for medicinal purposes. The flowers can be cut for flower arrangements and bouquets. Grows up to 45 cm tall. Prune back regularly throughout the growing season to keep your plant tidy. Alchemilla Mollis has received The Royal Horticulture Society Gold Merit Award. P***y Willow - Salix Discolor

Also known as European Willow or French Willow. Native to Northern Europe and northwest Asia. P***y Willow is grown for its attractive winter fluffy white catkins which will thrive throughout the frosty season, followed by elliptic serrate shaped leaves. P***y willow is a fast growing tree or can be shaped into an ornamental shrub, and is also suitable as a hedging plant. Will grow up to 4 - 8 m tall over 10 -20 years. The winter branches can also be used as part of a florist bouquet. While salicin can have medicinal properties for humans, please note this plant is toxic to animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses, if consumed. This plant will self seed.

Fuchsia F. Magellanica Var. Gracilis - Pink Flowering Shrub

Popular ornamental garden shrub - Easy to grow - Pink & purple drooping flowers from Summer - Autumn.

Also known as Lady’s Ear Drops. Fuchsias are a popular ornamental garden plant. A bushy deciduous flowering shrub, that grows from 90 cm - 130 cm tall with dainty pink, pretty pendulous teardrop flowers that bloom from Summer - Autumn. The leaves are aristate shaped with spiny sharp points, and the pendulous flowers are bright pink with lifted outer petals and a dark purple under skirt. Grows well in most soil types in full sun or part shade. Fuchsia is an easy plant to grow, and a good choice for beginner gardeners. Young fuchsia plants should be protected from the frost. To propagate take a pencil width hard wood cutting from the base of the plant from Spring - early Autumn. This plant is safe around pets.

If this is not practical your plant will survive the frost however it may take a little longer to grow back in the spring. Also this plant will drop it’s leaves in the winter.

Iris Black Gamelock - Louisiana Iris

Low Maintaince - Flowering Perennial - Bog Plant

Native to Louisiana and surrounding regions of the southeastern United States Iris ser. Hexagonae will reach between 70 - 120cm tall with deep purple flowers with a golden highlights on each petal. It blooms from May - July with sward like green foliage. Iris Black Gaemcock will thrive in a sunny position or part shade, grown as a bog plant, it prefers moist soil and will do well near a pond or in shallow water. Iris is easy to grow and is great porformer. Will attract hummingbirds into the garden. Iris also make a great cut flower. Please note this plant is toxic to pets and horses. Do not consume.

To care for your Iris plant in shallow soil and keep the soil moist do not let it dry out. To help prevent the soil from dyring out in flower beds or borders, add a layer of mulch around the plant stems. Once the flowers begin to fade cut back any brown stems. To prevent overcrowding and maintain robust blooms, divide clumps every 2 to 3 years. The best time to dig up and separate the rhizomes is in late summer to early autumn. Discard the older, woody rhizomes and replant the smaller, fresh ones that have new green growth point.
