💛 A Huge Thank You to Noah

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of hosting Noah for his work experience this past week, and what a week it’s been. He has been an incredible help, a fast learner, and an all‑round joy to have in the Cave. His enthusiasm for board gaming, his willingness to get stuck into every task, and his positive attitude made a real impact on all of us.
Noah is a credit to his family, and we’re genuinely grateful for the energy and effort he brought to the space. He’s welcome back any time—whether for more experience, to volunteer, or simply to roll some dice.

If Noah’s week has inspired others, we’d love to hear from you. We are selective, because the Cave is more than just a café—it’s a living, breathing hub for board gaming, wargaming, D&D, community events, and creative chaos.
Applicants should:
- Have a genuine interest in what we do—whether that’s board games like Noah, wargaming, roleplaying, or hobby culture.
- Be open to learning about all aspects of the shop, from customer service to event prep to the behind‑the‑scenes magic that keeps the Cave running.
- Bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to muck in.

Don't forget this happens from tomorrow. We are not 100% sure how this will affect things, as access is still apparently maintained for businesses in the closure, but we will do our best to find out tomorrow night and will update you all.

Aston Street and High Street in Wem are to be resurfaced overnight from Monday 2 to Sunday 15 March.

🚧 During the work the road will be closed from 6pm to 6am each night, when access to the work area will be restricted to:

✅ Residents living within the closure.
✅ Businesses located within the closure
✅ Pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians
✅ Emergency vehicles

For all other traffic a signed diversion will be place. Depending on their vehicle type, road users may be able to choose an alternative diversion route.

People are asked to ensure vehicles are not parked on the road whilst the work is in progress.

Every effort will be made to keep the noise to a minimum from 11pm.

With February being such a short month — and the last Sunday landing on the 22nd, which didn’t really feel like the “end of the month” — we’ve decided to push our Monthly Boardgame Social back by one week.

A little reshuffle has happened at the Cave today as we make room for our brand‑new paint rack! 🎨

You’ll spot a few gaps here and there — we’ll be filling those over the coming months. If there are any colours you’re especially keen to see on the shelves, just give us a shout and we’ll bump them up the priority list.

Also… can you spot the tiny creatures who’ve already made the paint rack their new home? They seem very pleased with the upgrade.

We’ve also had a fresh delivery of deck boxes and sleeves for your TCG cards, so if your collection needs a bit of extra protection or style, we’ve got you covered.

Troll Cave is now officially WPN registered — and the timing couldn’t be better.

We’re gearing up to dive into the Secrets of Strixhaven Pre‑Release, and you won’t want to miss it. Keep your eyes peeled for the event announcement… spots will go fast once it drops.

Magic is about to get a whole lot more magical at the Cave.

Fresh cakes have land at The Troll Cave on a regular basis, baked just a few streets away in our fully registered and insured home kitchen, The Monstrous Bakery .

Everything on the counter is made fresh — never frozen, never refrigerated — so you get maximum flavour, perfect texture, and that just‑baked taste that commercial cakes can’t touch.

We usually have gluten‑free and vegan options available too (though they can sell out fast or be limited depending on the bake day).

If you’re in town and fancy something sweet, swing by, grab a slice, and taste what the Monstrous Bakery magic is all about.
