Well we have fresh batch of cakes in from Studio28 …

We have new Fentiman’s in stock…

We have stock of Pink Ink in - the latest dark romance sensation.

We also have Dead Girls Don’t Talk, which has been all over social media. It has both the victims story aswell as the killers story in the same book.

On sunday after work, Charlotte took herself on a little jaunt to Penshaw monument for the 13th installment of the LJ Ross tour of the North East.

The monument itself is such an odd thing. So stark against the landscape that surrounds it.

Charlotte also witnessed het first wildfire while there. For our non-UK followers, we are struggling through a heatwave right now, and we all got an alert on our phones not to set fires etc….

So of course someone decided that setting a fire would be a great idea. :/

For everyone asking how our Kelly is doing while being off (and there have been so many of you)…

She popped in to the shop yesterday and she was in a very positive mindset. She is still in discomfort (given what she had done), but we had a big hug and she was all smiles.

We look forward to welcoming her back with open arms once she is back on her feet. Hopefully it wont be too long, then she will be gracing us with her sunshine personality once again.

Happy release day to Local Author C I Thompson.

So Books and Bakes have been sat on the information that book 3 in the Grimshaw and Harper series…. And the fact that Books and Bakes were chosen to feature. Not only that, but Charlotte herself is in it!!!

This is such a massive thing for Charlotte. We love working with all our local authors and the fact that one of them included her in their book is just…. *chefs kiss*

“Last: I have just finished The Rock by LJ Ross I know I say this with every book from her, but I think this one was my favourite so far.
Now: The Divorce by Freida McFadden I’m reading this for one of our book clubs and am actually enjoying it, despite having big Freida burnout.
Next: Alchemised by SenLinYu, and Bamburgh by L J Ross. Looking forward to both of these greatly.”

Kelly:
“Last: Fahrenheit-182 by Mark Hoppus. An easy listen on Audible - my inner 13-year-old pop-punk kid was not disappointed.
Now: The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah. A homage to the resilience of women who were fighting against the N**i regime at home.
Next: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig Its been on my TBR shelf longer than I’d like to admit… so this is DEFINITELY getting read. Finally. At last. I promise. 😂”

Saturday Boy:

Now: Quantum of Menace by Kazeem Khan. Think re-imagined James Bond.
