The woodpecker story is quite unique — in 1995, a Northern Flicker woodpecker caused extensive damage to the Space Shuttle Discovery’s external tank by pecking over 200 holes in the foam insulation, leading to a delay in the STS-70 mission. It’s often remembered as one of the more unusual incidents in NASA’s history!
For those interested in space and science, or just looking for an inspiring experience, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet an astronaut and hear firsthand accounts of space exploration. Make sure to book your tickets soon as these events are quite popular! 🚀
